Gavin Dew

Member of the BC Legislative Assembly for Kelowna-Mission

Gavin Dew was elected to the British Columbia Legislature in 2024 as the Member for Kelowna–Mission. He currently serves as the Official Opposition Critic for Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation.


With over 20 years of experience at the intersection of business, public policy, and technology, Gavin is a strong advocate for innovation, small business growth, and the future of work. Prior to entering politics, he served as Chief Strategy Officer for a $5 billion agricultural innovation and food security project in British Columbia.


Gavin holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Oxford, where he focused on corporate social responsibility.


He lives in Kelowna with his wife and two children, where they co-founded Play Area, an indoor playground designed to support young families. Gavin is actively involved in his community and serves on the boards of the Business Council of British Columbia, Resource Works, and the Veterans Transition Network. He was previously recognized as one of Business in Vancouver’s “Forty Under 40.”

As a young father and community builder, Gavin understands the importance of economic resilience, work-life balance, and empowering people to build purpose-driven businesses close to home.
